Agrocert is a public law organisation underthe supervision of the Ministry of Rural Development and Food in Greece. Qualified by the EU, it awards the seal 'Protected Geographical Indication'. It proves that the production, processing and preparation of a product in a specific geographical area has been carried out in accordance with a recognised and established procedure. Exceptional characteristics and quality of the labelled products are closely linked to their place of origin and production. P.D.O. corresponds to the 'protected designation of origin' and requires origin and production in the region.
